Nets Fall to 0-18, Set Record for Most Losses to Start a Season

We all saw this coming for some time now, but Wednesday night it finally happened: the New Jersey Nets lost to the Dallas Mavericks, setting the NBA record for most losses by a franchise to start the season at 18.

The Nets hung in there for the first quarter, but a blistering second period from the Mavs -- one in which they scored 49 points and shot almost 90 percent from the field -- ensured that they wouldn't be the ones who allowed New Jersey to break their miserable streak.
