Reliever Darren Oliver and the Texas Rangers reached a preliminary agreement Monday on a $3.5 million, one-year contract that includes a club option for 2011. The deal is pending a physical, according to a person familiar with the negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because the contract had not been finalized.
