The NBA D-League has been clawing, scraping, and dragging its way to credibility for the past eight seasons. It has survived teams folding like dot-coms, the draw of European dollars for players outside the NBA bubble, and the fight to gain any exposure at all on a national level. In the meantime, they've had a bigger impact on the league than people realize (56 call-ups since the beginning of '07, and 65 players currently in the league with D-League experience), have stabilized their ownership situation, began developing affiliate owned teams (the Spurs' Toros in Austin, the Thunder's 66ers in Tulsa for example), and now, have added a major component.The NBA D-League is coming to your cable box.
The D-League announced today that they have signed a deal with Versus to broadcast 10 regular season games and 6 playoff games for the 2009-2010 season.
