Anthony Carter Won't Agree to Any Trade

DENVER -- You could call him Mr. Team Player. But Anthony Carter has another name.



"I just stay ready,'' he said. "It's my last name. Anthony Ready.''



If there are any doubts about Carter's commitment to the Denver Nuggets, consider what the point guard said in a Wednesday interview with FanHouse.



When point guards Chauncey Billups and Ty Lawson are healthy, Carter usually doesn't play. He hadn't logged a picosecond in eight of nine games entering Wednesday's against Phoenix.



You'd think Carter, who played serious minutes for the Nuggets until rookie Lawson arrived this season, would be clamoring for a trade. And a source said earlier in the season the Nuggets had been thinking of Carter, 34, as possibly being fodder in a deal by the Feb. 18 trade deadline.
