Write for NESW Blogs Network!

If you have been reading this blog, or paying any attention to what I have been doing in my little crevasse of the interwebs, you know I have been working on my blog network. Please take a moment to read the network’s back story and how it can hopefully help your writing career grow. Here is the sports blog network line up.

All Sports: NESW Sports

MLB: 7th Inning Stache

NBA: Stacheketball

NFL: Stache Mouth Football

SEC Football: SEC Football Blogger

What is the point of having a blog network? Some people are happy making a little bit of money off of other people’s work. Some people make a blog network so they can sell it and make money. I have a different idea.

I want to see my writers have success. From September 2008 to September of 2009, I was unemployed. I worked tirelessly on this blog, whilst trying to find a job in this economy. With all the hard work I still only put a small dent in the side of sports blogging. I was miles away from actual success. Once I got a job last Sept., I realized that there was no way I could keep up the blogs, and work. I am not the most talented guy, but I am a huge fan of the blogosphere, I have a ton of blogging friends, and I want to see them and others succeed where I could not. I got the idea to start a small blog network, much like UPROXX, in hopes that, without copying UPROXX, we could have similar results.

Having a small blog network makes sense to me, because I want to focus on the writers. I did not go to the first Blogs with Balls, but I was told the phrase “Content is King” was paramount. Having a bunch of content does not mean anything if it is not well written, and in front of people’s eyes. I am going to try my hardest to make sure your great work is seen.

How will I do that? I have a geeky social media plan for the blogs, but the important thing is that I have building blocks in place. I already have great editors for all but one of my blogs. I conned / convinced these great people / writers to believe my vision.

The SEC Football blog is headed up by Andrew Rosin whose work has been featured many places, and he has been blogging for years at The GNC. The MLB Blog is headed up by David Chalk who has been featured on Yahoo’s Big League Stew, Bugs and Cranks, other well known places. The new NFL blog is headed up by Patrick Gordon of Fan IQ fame. I am still looking for an NBA blog editor. ( write me if interested. )

Without seeing my finished product, they all agreed to tag along and try to make this a reality. I thank them all very much. The network has been linked to Sports Illustrated’s Hot Clicks, Yahoo’s Ball Don’t Lie, ESPN’s True Hoop, and Sweet Spot, Deadspin, and many other well known blogs.

So, I would like to humbly ask everyone, if they are interested in blogging for any of these sports, to please write me ( EthanJaynes-at-Comcast.net ). If you like to write, or if you have a blog, or if you just have a passion and want to let it out, please write me. In the coming months the staffs of all the blogs should fill out, and there will be a redesign of the look and feel of the network. Yes, I am aware that the current theme is not flattering.

The pay will be a going rate to start off with, but I want that to grow. I want people to be able to do a good job, and get good pay. That will come as the staffs get rounded out, and only the best writers remain. When I was unemployed I asked most of the blog networks if I could write for them with a paid position and I was rejected, understandably. My brand of blogging was different. I post videos.

Do not worry. You will not have to scour Youtube for clips, even though that is fun detective work. You just have to bring the “heat”. Come up with a story, or view that is original and thought provoking. The blog should be entertaining. We are not looking for game recaps. We are looking for excellent content.

I know it is not cool to wear your heart on your sleeve, but I am putting a lot of work into this, and want to work with a bunch of people that have the same goal. Please consider this as an opportunity to join a project that will be something that we can all be proud of, and might be your stepping stone to something even better. The connections, exposure, and experience working with great editors can not be duplicated working on a startup blog of your own.

Email me ( EthanJaynes-at-Comcast.net ) Thanks for any consideration!
