PHOENIX -- Leave it to Jared Dudley to talk too much. After months of speculation surrounding the future of his teammate, Amar'e Stoudemire, the Phoenix small forward who doubles as a wannabe media man spilled the free agency beans just one day after the Suns were eliminated by the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. Stoudemire, Dudley revealed to his fellow reporters after the team held exit interviews, is headed for Miami.
On vacation.
No, there were no revelations on Sunday about the question that will dictate the future of this franchise. Stoudemire is still Mr. 50-50, vacillating between a number of enviable options while the Suns must wait and wonder if their surprisingly-sunny future will prematurely turn to dusk with his departure.
But as they discussed a season in which they reinvented their way to a deep playoff run just one year after missing the postseason entirely, there was a sense that their work of these past seven months just might have served as daylight savings.
Or as Dudley himself so accurately noted, it staved off what appeared to be a surefire total eclipse.
