James officially met with the Knicks Thursday. Coach Mike D'Antoni, president Donnie Walsh, owner James Dolan and retired star Allan Houston pitched James and his circle of advisers on what the Knicks could offer LeBron should he choose to join them as a free agent this summer. The presentation was one of six James was a party to in Akron, Ohio, this week.
Isola reports that Walsh's deputy Glen Grunwald, who was the Raptors' general manger until 2004, and Madison Square Garden president Scott O'Neil met briefly with Rose and Carter in Akron on Saturday after LeBron wrapped up his meetings with the Cavaliers and Bulls. The meeting is described as a "second pitch." The Knicks' Thursday pitch has been derided in media reports as sloppy and inferior to the Nets' preceding presentation.
Reports now suggest James may not make an announcement as to his intentions until after the LeBron James Skills Academy in Akron ends on Wednesday.
