There's more than a good chance that Andrew Bynum will miss the entire preseason, as well as the regular season opener against Yao Ming and the Houston Rockets.This friendly reminder is brought to you by Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register, who posted on Wednesday about the distinct possibility that Bynum won't necessarily be ready to go when the Lakers open defense of their back-to-back NBA titles at Staples Center on Oct. 26.
Bynum had surgery back in late July to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee. When Ding checked in with the Lakers on Bynum's progress in the rehabilitation process, he got this quote from team spokesman John Black about Bynum's availability (or lack thereof) for opening night:
