LeBron James was among several members of the Miami Heat to miss practice on Friday, opting instead to rest his right leg injury. But James, who left Tuesday's preseason game with leg cramps and pain in his right hamstring and missed Wednesday's game in New Orleans, is expected to resume practice on Saturday.
"We don't play until Monday and we've got a long, long ways until the 26th," James said, referring to Miami's next preseason game against Charlotte on Monday and then the Heat regular-season opener in Boston on Oct. 26. "Don't want to rush it until I feel 100 percent."
Also missing practice was Dwyane Wade, who's still nursing a strained hamstring suffered in the team's first preseason game. But while his teammates put in time on the practice court, he spent his Friday in a Chicago courtroom, testifying in a custody case for his two sons. Wade is expected to return to practice next week in advance of the regular season.
