MIAMI -- The Miami Heat looked to rebound from their loss the previous night to the New Orleans Hornets with a home victory against the New Jersey Nets on Saturday. Just like in their first meeting six days ago, the Heat reached 101 points on their way to the easy win and the turning point once again was the third quarter. The Heat's super trio had their most balanced game to date with solid contributions from Dwyane Wade (29 points, 10 rebounds), Chris Bosh (21 points, five rebounds) and LeBron James (23 points, nine assists). In contrast, Anthony Morrow was the only member of the Nets to score more than 12 points to finish with 25, though he was held to only 6 points in the second half when the Heat pulled away. Only three players for the Nets reached double figures though they kept it close in the first half.
First Quarter:
James took the initiative and drove in on the first possession as soon as he touched the ball. On the second possession it was Wade's turn to attack the rim as both superstars looked they like they wanted to set the tone early. While the Nets were patient with their shot selection and preferred to swing the ball around until they had a good look at the basket, the Heat forced the action a little too much at the outset and played with nervous energy.
