The Washington Wizards suspended forward Andray Blatche and center JaVale McGee for one game each on Saturday for conduct detrimental to the team. The suspensions stem from a Thursday night incident in which the two teammates reportedly came to blows at a Washington, D.C. club. The Washington Post reported that several witnesses saw Blatche and McGee shouting obscenities at each other outside of the Shadow Room in Northwest Washington, and two league sources told the Post that the two also exchanged punches inside the club.
"After further investigation into an incident on Thursday night, we concluded that Andray and JaVale conducted themselves in an unprofessional manner," Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said.
As a result of the suspensions, Blatche and McGee, the Wizards' starting power forward and center, respectively, will miss the team's Sunday game against the San Antonio Spurs.
