There aren't typically blockbuster-type trades in the NBA Development League, but with Tuesday's trade of Danny Green (right) going from the Sioux Falls Skyforce to the Reno Bighorns for Patrick Ewing Jr., there have already been three trades involving NBA prospects this week following Monday's acquistion of Marqus Blakley and Stanley Robinson by the Iowa Energy.Green signed a D-League contract last week but didn't clear waivers until earlier Tuesday when he was claimed by the Skyforce as they were the top team in the waiver order. Upon acquiring Green, however, the Skyforce instantly traded him to the Bighorns for the son of Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing.
Green, a 6-foot-6 wing who played four seasons at North Carolina, was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 46th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. He played just 115 total minutes for the Cavs last season, however, and was released during the preseason this year. Shortly thereafter, Green was signed by the San Antonio Spurs, but after appearing in just two games, he was released on Nov. 23 and has been a free agent ever since. In his brief NBA career, Green averaged just over five minutes of action in 22 games played with his career high in points being a rather pedestrian six.
