Electrocution caused horse deaths at Newbury

Two horses that died before a race at Newbury last weekend were killed by heart attacks as a result of accidental electrocution, British horseracing’s governing body confirmed Thursday. Fenix Two and Marching Song collapsed in the paddock ahead of Saturday’s first race because of “leakage of electricity from a cable,” an investigation by the British Horseracing Authority found.
