Holdsclaw, the San Antonio Silver Stars forward, was injured Sunday against Minnesota. The Silver Stars learned the extent of her injury, originally believed to be an ankle sprain, after an MRI exam. She will miss the remainder of the season.
Holdclaw was a productive addition to the San Antonio roster after being traded from Atlanta, where she led the Dream to the playoffs last season before an injury kept her out of the postseason.
She was averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Stars.
There are three games left in the regular-season schedule.
The Stars are in a three-way tie with Los Angeles and Minnesota for one of the Western Conference's final two playoff spots.
