Roy had played 20 minutes when he pulled up injured on an offensive possession midway through the third. The star guard had scored just two points while shooting 1-7 from the floor.
The Oregonian's Jason Quick reported late Friday that Roy had been diagnosed with arthritic knee, and that because the Blazer had no cartilage in either meniscus, surgery would not help fix the problem. Quick reported that Roy would continue to take anti-inflammatory medicine to reduce swelling in his knee, and would be limited to 35 minutes per game for the time being.
