Pavlovic, 27, is a seven-year veteran of the NBA, spending the bulk of his career as an occasional starter with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2004-09. He spent last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves but after posting the worst numbers of his career (his 3.7 points and 12.4 minutes per game marked career lows) went unsigned as a free agent this past summer.
Although not expected to see significant minutes for the Mavs, Pavlovic provides depth for a roster still coping with the loss of Caron Butler, who underwent season-ending knee surgery last week. The Mavs are also still without the services of Dirk Nowitzki, who's missed seven games and counting with a right knee injury.
Pavlovic, a native of Yugoslavia, has career averages of 5.5 points, 1.9 rebounds in 16.5 minutes per game. He will be available for Wednesday's game at Indiana.
