But with the acquisition of Tracy McGrady, the Knicks might have gotten there sooner than they could have expected.
T-Mac made his debut in a New York uniform on Saturday, starting for the Knicks at home as his new team tried to stop the Thunder's seven-game winning streak. While the Knicks weren't ultimately successful, falling in overtime by a score of 121-118, McGrady's performance was something worth celebrating.
McGrady had 10 points in the first quarter, and finished with 26, four rebounds, and five assists in 32 minutes of action. The numbers were season highs, and were especially impressive considering the fact that his last NBA minutes came back on December 23rd, when he logged just eight of them and went 1-for-4 from the field while playing for the Houston Rockets.

McGrady played very well despite the loss. I think he will help the Knicks win many of their remaining games, but New York will still miss the playoffs.
