ORLANDO -- What looks like the backcourt of the future also will become the backcourt of today in Philadelphia. They have no time to wait.
Rookie shooting guard Evan Turner -- the No. 2 overall pick in last month's NBA Draft -- and second-year point guard Jrue Holiday made their debut together on the first day of Summer League Monday, providing a glimpse of what should become a long-running relationship.
"Our backcourt is going to be pretty good,'' Holiday said with considerable confidence. "I could see this really working out well.''
Holiday, 20, and Turner, 21, led the 76ers to a 84-74 victory over the New Jersey Nets, in the first of what should be many, many, many starts together.
"It's going to be fun playing with Jrue,'' Turner said. "It'll be a lot of fun because we can both handle the ball and do some things.''
