Minnesota Lynx Win No. 1 Pick in 2011 WNBA Draft

The winner in the Maya Moore Sweepstakes is the Minnesota Lynx.



The Lynx won the 2011 WNBA Draft Lottery for the third time in the last six years and the second year in a row.



And that makes it very likely that the Lynx will take Connecticut star Moore with the No. 1 pick in next April's draft.



The Lynx traded the No. 1 pick last year to the Connecticut Sun, who used it to take Tina Charles, who finished as the WNBA Rookie of the Year.



Moore, a two-time national player of the year and the only college player on the U.S. team that won gold at the World Championships in September, will be the big prize in the WNBA Draft.



"In winning today's draft lottery, we are guaranteed to add someone that we expect to be an MVP-caliber player from the day she steps foot onto the court," Lynx CEO Roger Griffith said in a statement provided by the team. "When you add the No. 1 pick to the talent we already have on this roster, you can't help but be excited for what's to come."
